As other Kansas Republicans heed calls from ranchers who oppose importing Argentinian beef, Marshall dismisses their concerns and tells Kansans facing higher prices to “take a breath”
Topeka, Kansas — As Kansas cattlemen sound the alarm on the administration’s new plans to import beef from Argentina, Sen. Roger Marshall is dismissing their concerns, calling it a “blip on the screen” and patronizingly “begging” Kansans to “take a breath” about higher prices.
Other Kansas Republicans are standing with Kansas cattlemen and opposing the Argentinian beef plan – but not Marshall, who told KCMO that “This Argentina beef is just a blip on the screen.”
The move to import Argentinian beef would undermine American ranchers at a critical moment when Kansas’s agricultural industry is already taking a hit due to Roger Marshall’s trade war. Marshall told Kansans to be “patriots” for Donald Trump and just swallow the higher prices caused by his reckless tariffs.
