KDP TO HOST CANDIDATE FORUMS AT WASHINGTON DAYS

KANSAS DEMOCRATIC PARTY HOSTING CANDIDATE FORUMS AT ANNUAL CONVENTION

Washington Days features Forums on Sunday as Finale to the convention

TOPEKA KS – The Kansas Democratic Party is hosting its annual convention at the Townsite in Topeka Kansas Friday March 6 – 8, 2026. This is a new location for the statewide convention and a return to a three-day format. The final day of the convention, Sunday March 8 will feature forums between the candidates in primaries for Congressional office, US Senate, and Governor. Additionally, speeches will be shared from other statewide candidates including Secretary of State

“We have an abundance of talented and qualified candidates running for every level of elected leadership in 2026, from the Kansas House to the Governor’s seat and from every Congressional District to the U.S. Senate.” Kansas Democratic Party Chairwoman Jeanna Repass said. “With such a large field we believe it is important to give opportunities to as many candidates as possible so they can have access to the Democratic Party voting base. And our Annual Washington Days convention is the perfect vehicle for that.”

The KDP is not charging candidates a fee to participate or attendees an admission cost to be in the audience in-person. So far, six Congressional candidates, four US Senate Candidates, and three Gubernatorial candidates including State Senators Cindy Holscher and Ethan Corson have committed to participate in the forums. The candidate forums will begin at 9:45am with the Congressional Candidates and will conclude with the Gubernatorial forum starting at 12:45pm. Forums will take place in the first-floor ballroom at the Townsite Center.
