KDP Statement on the Chaotic GOP Primary for Governor
TOPEKA, KS — Today, Kansas Democratic Party Chair Jeanna Repass released the following statement on the extreme, far-right Republican primary for governor after Jeff Colyer exited the race:
“If the past few days have proved anything, it’s that the Republicans running for governor care more about pushing an extreme D.C. agenda in Kansas than doing what’s right for working families. Instead of focusing on the issues Kansans care about most, this crowded field of candidates are locked in a damaging race to see who can be the most loyal to Donald Trump and his cost-raising agenda that’s hurting small businesses, gutting health care, and threatening rural hospitals. No matter who emerges from this chaotic and messy primary, they will be damaged, drained of resources, and deeply out of step with Kansas families.”
