Kansas Democratic Party Statement on Donald Trump’s Endorsement of Ty Masterson

TOPEKA, Kan. — Following Donald Trump’s endorsement of Ty Masterson in the Republican primary for governor, Kansas Democratic Party Chair Jeanna Repass released the following statement:

“Ty Masterson and the Republican field have turned this primary into a humiliating contest to see who can bow lowest to Donald Trump. After months of chasing Trump’s approval, Masterson finally got the endorsement he wanted — and Kansas voters now have an even clearer picture of what a Ty Masterson governorship would mean for our state.

“Masterson is not running to solve problems for Kansas families. He is running to carry out Donald Trump’s chaotic agenda in Kansas: higher costs for working families and farmers, attacks on public schools, threats to rural hospitals, and more political dysfunction that leaves everyday Kansans paying the price.

“Ty Masterson has made his priorities clear. He will put Donald Trump’s political agenda ahead of Kansas families every single time. Kansans deserve a governor who works for them — not another extreme politician desperate to prove his loyalty to Donald Trump.”
